High-Pressure Line Cleaning That Lasts
West Coast Heating Air Solar & Plumbing uses hydro jetting to clean drain and sewer lines in San Diego from wall to wall. A cable machine bores a path through a blockage; a jetting nozzle sends high-pressure water in every direction and washes out the grease, scale, sludge, and fine roots that cause slow drains to keep returning.
Hydro jetting is worth a call if you are dealing with:
- A drain that has been snaked more than once this year and still clogs.
- Kitchen lines that slow down every few weeks from grease buildup.
- Gurgling toilets and a main line that drains sluggishly.
- Sewer cleanout caps that have overflowed in the yard.
- Fine roots or sludge that came up on the cable during an earlier cleaning.
- Lingering sewer odor even after the clog was cleared.
- A home you just bought with no record of when the main was last cleaned.
Our crew has been handling San Diego County plumbing since 1996 out of our El Cajon shop, and we hold California contractor license #810930. To set up a jetting visit, call (619) 349-4189 or book online.

Hydro Jetting Questions
Is hydro jetting safe for older pipes?
It is safe for most lines in sound condition. That is why we inspect with a camera before jetting and adjust pressure to the pipe material. Badly cracked or collapsed sections need repair, not jetting.
How is jetting different from snaking?
A snake cuts a hole through the blockage. Jetting cleans the full diameter of the pipe, which removes the buildup that causes the next clog.
Can hydro jetting remove tree roots?
It clears fine and moderate root growth. Heavy root masses may need cutting first, and roots that broke the pipe call for a repair.
How often should a line be jetted?
Most homes never need it on a schedule. Homes with recurring grease or root problems often do well with a cleaning every one to two years.
Will jetting make a mess in my home?
No. We work from an outside cleanout whenever one is available, and the debris flushes downstream into the sewer rather than back toward the house.
Inspect First, Then Jet
Jetting is powerful, so we never send water down a line we have not looked at. A camera goes in first to confirm the pipe material, find the blockage, and check for cracks, offset joints, or collapsed sections that would make jetting the wrong choice. If the line is not sound, we tell you and talk through repair options instead.
Once the line checks out, you get a fixed written price. We access the system through a cleanout, choose a nozzle and pressure suited to the pipe size and material, and work the hose through the full length of the run. Afterward we run water through the house and, on most jobs, send the camera back down so you can see the clean pipe for yourself.
Most residential jobs take a couple of hours from setup to cleanup. Water from the jetter carries the loosened material out through the sewer, so nothing is pulled back into your house, and we leave the cleanout capped and the work area rinsed.
Restaurants, older homes, and properties with long runs to the street are where we jet most often around the county. Hard water in this region leaves mineral deposits that a cable cannot fully remove, and many neighborhoods have mature trees whose fine roots creep into sewer joints during dry months.
Lines we commonly jet:
- Kitchen drain lines with grease buildup
- Main sewer lines from the house to the street
- Laundry and utility drain lines
- Lines with light root intrusion
- Storm and yard drain lines
- Commercial kitchen and multi-unit drain lines

What a Jetted Line Gives You
A jetted pipe drains close to its original capacity because the buildup on the walls is gone, not just the plug in the middle. That usually means a much longer stretch before the next service call and fewer emergency backups on holidays and weekends, when the house is full and the drains get the most use.
Skipping it has a price. Each cable cleaning on a coated line only buys a few weeks, and the repeat visits add up. Buildup that is left in place keeps trapping debris, and in older cast iron the moisture and sludge speed up corrosion.
If you are tired of clearing the same clog over and over, call (619) 349-4189 and ask about hydro jetting.
